Code of Conduct
“There’s No Crying in Baseball”
Tom Hanks – A League of our Own
Baseball is America’s great past time. It is a great avenue for our kids to grow and
develop in many ways. This growth, development and love of the game will only come if
players, coaches, league representative, umpires and all other participants (parents)
respect the code of proper conduct.
It is up to each individual involved to make this a great experience not only for
themselves and their children but for all others as well.
There are a few simple rules of conduct that we all need to follow in order for there to be
an environment conducive for children. We all need to remember that is why we are here.
- Profanity of any kind will not be tolerated and could be cause for ejection from game or field.
- Alcohol & Tobacco is prohibited in any form at the ball park and at any team practice or function.
- No contact with umpire
- No verbal abuse of umpires
- No verbal abuse of the children
- Players, coaches, spectators are not to incite, to try to incite the opposing team.
- Any behavior that is out of control or disruptive to the game may result in ejection from the field of the game. This includes coaches, players and spectators. This includes a coach getting out of control with his own team. We encourage coaches to teach and train their team in a way that doesn’t tear down the individual. If the behavior of a coach is in question, it may be presented before the board to determine if they are to remain a coach.
- Coaches should be in appropriate attire when they are at the ball park. They are to be examples in every way to the kids that have been placed on their teams.
Good Sportsmanship is to be displayed at all times from all who enter the ball park. We
always need to remember what the objective is and that it is for the kids. If we all follow
common sense and common courtesy, Herriman Baseball will be known as the place to
play.
Help Make it a GREAT YEAR!!
