Wasatch Baseball Rules

TBall & Rookie PW7 PW8 Minors (9U & 10U) Majors (11U & 12U) 13U - 18U

TBall & Rookie

Both Tball and Rookie divisions will have game times of 1 hour. The first 30 minutes will be team practice and then 30 minutes of game play. In the 30 minutes of game play each team should be able to hit twice.
Tball is hitting off of a Tee. Each player will hit per inning. No score is recorded. Once all players on a team have hit the teams will switch.
Rookie is coach pitch. If after 6 pitches the hitter does not hit then the hitter will hit from a tee. All players bat. Once the entire team has hit teams will switch.

PW7

PW7 (7U) Division

No stealing bases in any situation including past balls or overthrows
- Once ball touches the infield the runner may only advance to the next available/open base. The ball will remain live and an attempt on a runner can result in an out.
Pitcher must remain behind the pitching machine prior to pitch being hit.
5 pitch max - Runner is out after 5th pitch is thrown. An at bat may be extended if the 5th pitch results in a foul ball. There will be no walks.
Team must start a game with 7 players at game time.
Coaches are allowed on the field during defense but must remain behind the outfield players.
Defense will be allowed only one team conference per inning.
If the ball hits the machine, it is a dead ball. Players can not advance any further than what base they were going to. Batter will get 1st base.
Game will go 1 hour and 20 minutes, no new inning. If you are in a middle of an inning at 1:20 you will finish that inning (meaning home team will bat). If home team is up then the game is over.
All players will play in the field and all players will bat.

PW8

8U Single A Special Base Running Rules

No stealing home on a passed ball or overthrow to pitcher prior to the first full week in May. Any attempt on a runner is a live play and runners may advance to any base including home.
Starting with the first full week of May and when pitching machine is not is use (after 2nd inning), stealing home will be allowed.
No leading off.
One base advance on an overthrow outside of field of play (foul line).

Minors (9U & 10U)

Minor (9U/10U) Single A

No lead off / No drop 3rd strike
Game time will be 1 hour 20 minutes no new inning with drop dead at 1 hour 30 minutes.
- If drop dead time has been hit the score will revert back to the previous inning.

9U AAA

Dropped 3rd strike will be played
Game time will be 1 hour 20 minutes no new inning with drop dead at 1 hour 30 minutes.
- If drop dead time has been hit the score will revert back to the previous inning.

10U AAA

This division only will have 65-foot bases and with leadoffs
Dropped 3rd strike will be in play
Balks will be enforced from start of season
Game time will be 1 hour 20 minutes no new inning with drop dead at 1 hour 30 minutes.
- If drop dead time has been hit the score will revert back to the previous inning.

Majors (11U & 12U)

13U - 18U

13U, 15U & 18U Single A Draft Rules

13U & 15U teams are to be formed via a standard draft process to be determined by each individual league.
18U teams can be formed by the following means:
- Draft organized by each individual league
- Formation by coaches/players and brought to a league as a pre-formed team
- A combination of the previous two options
Game times will be 1 hour and 40 minutes no new inning.

Pitching Rules by division.

It is the responsibility of the coaches and the parents to ensure that these rules are followed for safety reasons. We take safety seriously so please monitor this closely. Violations of this rule will result in disciplinary actions.
